Thursday’s Child Is Serving Up Some Knockout Mediterranean Fusion Dishes in Saigon

A millennial-pink pool, pastel hues and cute golden accents. This is all anyone needs on a hot Saigon day. Thursday’s Child is floor to ceiling vibes!  Not only do they top my list of cute cafes, but they’re serving up some of the tastiest Instagram-worthy dishes in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day or night, Thursday’s Child is the perfect place for a crafty coffee or a delicious fusion of  seafood and Mediterranean cuisine. You can catch a late night glass of bubbly beside the ultra cute pink pool or get your Sunday brunch cravings in all day, every day.

Deep down we all have a compulsion for all things pink and Thursday’s Child is no exception. It’s hard not to immediately fall in love with it as you walk through the extensive revolving glass doors. And if you need more Thursday’s Child in your life they also host events and birthday parties, giving you the ability to have the whole place to yourself! Yes please.

Appetizers

To start off our fabulous dinner we couldn’t help but immediately bite into our Beetroot Cream Choux with Smoked Salmon. Although this little guy was perfectly bite-sized, he packed a huge punch. Not only was it light and airy, but completely heightened my tastebuds to an insanely delicious level.

Thursday’s Child’s appetizer will change daily according to the Chef’s creation and I absolutely love that. Kitchen creativity has always fascinated me and clearly the Chef here knows how to put together spectacularness in bite size form.

Main: Beef Lost in Mushroom

We started our meal off with the stunning Beef Lost in Mushroom. This dish is just drop dead gorgeous from every angle. The star of the show being an enticing Australian beef tenderloin, surrounded by grilled enoki mushrooms, pickled and striped beets, mashed taro and nine kinds of wild mushroom sauce. Yum! And let me tell you the tenderloin was all sorts of buttery, juicy perfection!

Main: Tropical Flavour Seabass

Next we dove into the Tropical Flavour Seabass from their Mains section. And yet again, another stunning display. Pan seared seabass, surrounded by elegantly placed pumpkin puree, a dainty fennel salad and grilled coconut sauce, I mean what more could a girl ask for? This dish completely surprised me, the flavours worked so beautifully together my tastebuds were on cloud 9.

Pasta: Spicy Mix Seafood Pasta

It was hard, next to impossible, to choose one pasta from their menu. After humming and hawing over their collection we chose to go for the Spicy Mix Seafood Pasta. A combination of seafood: mussels, prawns, calamari mixed beautifully into a luscious chili and tomato sauce tossed together with spaghetti. The way the flavours came together made this dish a combination of elegant and lick-the-plate-clean. Perfect for sharing, but I could have happily eaten it all to myself.

Day or Night, Brunch or Dinner, Coffee or Wine!

I love a transitional restaurant-cafe that can be equally as amazing in the afternoon as it is in the evening. I love the atmospheric diversity of Thursday’s Child because it really is a vibe be it day or night. The photos I’ve shared so far are from our little evening escapade, but take a look at our coffee break on a Tuesday afternoon. Whether it’s a quick cafe drive-by or a glammed up evening affair this spot is a quality choice.

A Cafe & Concept Kitchen Starring a Dreamy Pink Pool

Situated in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City’s Thao Dien, District 2 the vibrant shades of pink cannot be missed. Thursday’s Child’s bold hues and stunning textures are what make it such a fun and creative space. Aside from being one of the most photogenic places in Ho Chi Minh City, Thursday’s Child offers up a delectable Mediterranean and seafood fusion cuisine. From their incredible attention to detail to the beautifully crafted dishes they serve up, Thursday’s Child is elevating Saigon’s dining experience to another level.

Whether you’re grabbing coffee with a friend or looking for a great spot to curb your hunger, Thursday’s Child really does cater to all of your needs. This is my third time back and I can’t recommend it enough. As an avid Instagrammer the photo opportunities are endless, as a foodie the dishes are simply divine and as a cafe hopper the coffee creations are to die for!
