Rad Resorts: Mojito Madness at the Ocean Varadero El Patriarca Varadero

If taking an all inclusive vacation is your type of holiday, then listen up, the Ocean Varadero El Patriarca in Varadero, Cuba is spot on. Modern amenities, Cafe Cubanos before, after, and during the Mojito madness that ensues and of course, turquoise beachy waters as far as the eye can see. Salty hair, don’t care.

Now, you’re always going to get those Tripadvisor vacationers who say the food wasn’t good, or it was too hot by the pool, or their villa was too far from the beach. I think it’s all in our best interest that the beach is a 5 minute walk away from the all-you-can-eat buffet. These people love to complain yet, I see them bumping and grinding alongside the entertainment staff at the water aerobics fitness class.
Anyway, a picture is worth a thousand words (apologies in advance there are no photos of middle-aged woman shimmying with the entertainment staff) but this is what I gathered from our hotel and trip to Havana.

Welcome! Let me give you a tour…
In North Varadero (where we wish we were born and raised) on the beach was where we spent most of our days.
Day-venture to Havana for cigars, rum and of course, to pet the stray dogs.
When I think of Cuba, I always think of the unmistakable aromas: tropical papaya mixed with tobacco leaf, petrol and musty carpets. If only you could capture the smell and lock it away for another day! And the dogs too!
