Getting To Finger Lakes Wine Country

If, like me, you’re coming from Toronto, the Finger Lakes region in New York is easy enough to get to! Although the distance will vary depending on your specific destination within the Finger Lakes, the general driving distance is between 3.5-5 hours.

🚗 BY CAR: The most flexible way to travel to the Finger Lakes is by car. Major highways provide convenient access to the region and the Finger Lakes are within a few hours’ drive from cities like New York City, Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse.

🛬 BY AIR: The closest major airports to the Finger Lakes region are the Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) and Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR). You can fly into either of these airports and then rent a car to reach the Finger Lakes.

🚂 BY TRAIN: VIA Rail Canada offers train services from Toronto to Buffalo which you can then rent a car or use other transportation options to reach the Finger Lakes.

🚌 BY BUS: While direct bus routes from Toronto to the Finger Lakes region are limited, Megabus and Greyhound do offer bus services to Buffalo and Rochester. These cities are relatively close to the Finger Lakes region and can serve as transportation hubs for further travel.
