Only a 3 hour drive north of Toronto, Eh Frame Haus sits on the beautiful Kennisis Lake, Haliburton. Checking-In To Eh Frame Haus
Driving up to this traditional 70s A-frame cottage in Haliburton, Ontario is like stepping into your own personal slice of wilderness paradise. It’s hard not to immediately fall in love with The Eh when it’s surrounded by natural beauty and instantly gives you that home-away-from home feeling.
Janessa and Jesse, the rental owners, are not only lovely and welcoming but they’ve truly done a 180 on The Eh giving it a modern makeover as a stylish woodland getaway. While there’s plenty of old school A-frame charm inside, the bright white walls, modern appliances, and new furniture sure do make it a boutique Canadian getaway you don’t want to miss!

As we walked into The Eh we were greeted with a beautiful welcome package left for us on the counter. A bottle of wine, sparkling water, a handwritten welcome note stood beside an Eh Frame Haus tote bag, soy-wax candle and Eh branded hat. This was an unbelievably warm and welcoming start to our cottage weekend!
Inside The Eh Frame Haus’s Features & Amenities
As you walk through the door of Halliburton’s cutest cottage you’ll step into a gorgeous gourmet kitchen complete with natural stone countertops, propane stove/oven and both a coffee maker and espresso machine. The Eh comes fully equipped with all of the appliances and utensils required to whip up those mouth watering meals including basic spices, olive oil, as well as tea and coffee.
Just off to the side of the kitchen also sits a small mudroom and pantry to store all of your lakeside needs.
Down the small hall past the 3-piece washroom, The Eh opens up into a spacious living and dining room. Whether you’re basking in the light of their swanky neon sign, lounging the afternoon away or catching up on Netflix, this living-room-dining-room combo is sure to allow you to cozy up and relax.
Throw open the doors to the balcony overlooking beautiful Kennisis Lake and you’ll truly get that perfect mix of indoor-outdoor living! Nothing says cottage life better than charcuterie and wine outside.
Upstairs you’ll find The Eh’s primary bedroom known as the ‘Antler Room’ which boasts a luxurious king bed and walk out private balcony. Across the hall sits the ‘Blue Room’ and the ‘Salmon Room’ complete with a double and single bed.
Down the spiral staircase to the lower level you’ll find a washer, dryer, additional 2 piece washroom as well as the ‘Lake View Suite’ which hosts a queen size bed. The lower level also includes a walk out deck and seating area for more relaxation.
All linens and towels at The Eh are complimentary and come freshly washed and changed between guests. These crisp, high quality linens are just another added touch that let you soak in the full beauty this cottage has to offer.
Eh Frame Haus’s Great Outdoors
Eh Frame Haus couldn’t be a more perfect place to relax and recharge. It’s those eight hour days spent on the dock, toes dipped in Lake Kennisis with a rosé in hand that really allow you to leave your typical day-to-day behind and escape to something a bit simpler.
Fill your days canoeing, swimming, paddle boarding and kayaking thanks to The Eh’s stocked water toy options. In the evenings sit back in their Adirondack chairs, throw some steaks on the barbecue and get the fire pit going for s’mores under the stars!
